Image Sourcebook: Shelter

Art by Gene Ha & Jeff Albrecht

First Appearance: AXIS ALPHA, VOL. 1, ALPHA (FEBRUARY 1994)
History: Shelter is a private squad tasked with gathering information on and addressing as needed enhanced beings, often requiring quick results and a low profile. Shelter operates out of C.O.M.I.C. (Capture, Observation, Maintenance, Investigation and Containment) shops. Their patrons included the D.L. Group and the government, specifically Capitol (The Office of Sanctions.) Lt. Derrick "May Day" May is their caustic liaison with the D.L. Group, and he is served by two android bodyguards. In their sole appearance, Shelter trained in a high tech facility against a simulation of the PITT entity. Working in conjunction with General Geppi of Diamond, the D.L. Group tasked Shelter with investigating and capturing individuals found to have compromised a G.E.M. switching station in New York.

Members:
Random Access (Dreux Baker) is a freelance operator and former associate of Murdock Ellison who works with Shelter. Baker possesses teleportation (and possibly speed-related) powers.
Hot Wire uses mysticism and a Celtic war mask to channel and project all electrical forms.
Echo (Marika Bristle) can absorb all available ambient sound and convert it into pure, silent concussive force.
Insider (Ross Milkin) can, following eye contact, command the minds of as many as six subjects, though the time span of his control shortens with numbers and the presence of super powers.
Body Slam is a green-skinned, super-strong hulk with body quills that inject fatigue poisons into opponents.
Air Tight (Deborah Gay) is a blond woman with undefined abilities.
